⚠️ Gantt View is currently available in all versions of Instagantt
Gantt charts are one of the most widely used tools in project management because they provide a clear visual timeline of a project, showing tasks, deadlines, dependencies, and who is responsible for each task. With a Gantt chart, teams can plan, coordinate, and track progress efficiently, reducing confusion and improving collaboration.
The Gantt View in Instagantt brings this functionality online in an intuitive, interactive workspace. On the left, you have the task list, and on the right, the Gantt chart timeline. You can access Gantt View from the top menu, where all project views are displayed. Clicking “Gantt View” opens the interactive timeline for your project.

📝 How to Create and Schedule Tasks in Gantt View
Adding tasks and organizing your project is simple and intuitive:
Populate your project using the buttons under each section:
Add Task — to create individual tasks within a section.
Add Section — to create new sections to organize tasks by categories, phases, or stages.
Schedule tasks:
Enter dates manually in the Start and Due columns, or
Drag-and-drop task bars on the chart — recommended for most users.
How to use drag-and-drop effectively:
Click the start of a task bar and drag it to the desired date.
Adjust the length of the task by dragging the edges of the bar.
Move tasks forward or backward to quickly see how changes affect your project timeline.
⚠️ Note: The start and due dates of sections and parent tasks are determined by the tasks or subtasks they contain. You cannot edit their dates directly in the date columns, but you can move the section or parent task on the chart, which will adjust all tasks inside accordingly.
This visual method makes planning easier, faster, and more accurate than manual date entry.
